Florida schools haven’t been strangers to gun violence in the last 23 years. There has been at least 13 shootings registered, but none come close to the number of victims killed and wounded at the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland incident on February 14.

Tavares Middle School
Joey Summerall, an eighth grade student, was shot 13 times at point blank range at Tavares middle school by fellow eighth grader Keith Johnson. The two had an argument and Keith pulled out a 9mm handgun from his pants.
Conniston Middle School
Jean Pierre Kamel, 13, was shot and killed outside of Conniston Middle School by his 14-year old classmate Tronneal Mangum. According to news reports, the shooting was over a watch Tronneal took from Jean Pierre.
Lincoln Memorial High School
Trent Murray, 13, was shot in the back by his classmate Brandon Lee Hartsoe. Trent survived the shooting. It was the first ever school shooting in Manatee County.
Lake Worth Middle School
Barry Grunow, a teacher, was shot in the head by his student Nathaniel Brazil. The then 13-year old took the gun from his grandfather's drawer after he was sent home for throwing water balloons.
Milwee Middle School
Christopher Penley, 15, was pointing a pellet gun at his classmates when a SWAT team responded. Officer believed the gun to be a Beretta 9mm. When Christopher pointed the gun at a deputy, the deputy shot him. He later died in a hospital.
Carol City High School
Sergio Miranda, an 11th grade algebra teacher was shot in an attempted robbery outside of Miami Carol City High School. Miranda survived his injuries. Patrick Lively, 19, was arrested in the shooting.
Dillard High School
Amanda Collette, 15, was shot by killed her friend and classmate Teah Wimberly. Teah, 16, armed herself with a .22-caliber, chrome pistol. She was found guilty of second degree murder.
Episcopal School of Jacksonville
Dale Regan, head of the school was in her office when a recently fired employee Shane Schumerth bursted in. Schumerth shot and killed Regan before turning the gun on himself.
Apostolic Revival Center and Christian School
Kristopher Smith, 27, was dropping of his five-year old son to school when he was gunned down in the parking lot by an unknown gunman. No one else was injured.
Agape Christian Academy
Two teenage boys were shot at the private school's playground. They both survived their injuries. The unknown shooter fled in a car.
West Orange High School
Ja'Roderick Smith, 15, was shot in the face by his classmate J-Morian Eddie Patrick Bell, 17. Jad'Roderick survived his injuries. The two teens were fighting outside in the bus pick-up area when J-Morian pulled out a gun.
Carol City High School
Two teenagers were shot, Khambrel Manning, 16, and Tranard Gray, 17, at the high school. Khambrel died from his injuries. The gunman was their classmate, 17-year old Fredderick Parks.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School
Kristopher Smith, 27, was dropping of his five-year old son to school when he was gunned down in the parking lot by an unknown gunman. No one else was injured.
